Captain Jackie Glenn Spoon

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Charles Adams; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty.

Jackie was preceded in death by his father Paul William Spoon.

Surviving is his daughter, Jill Spoon, finance’, Adam Hunt; mother Evelyn Spoon of Liberty; sister Peggy Eller of Whitsett; brothers, Charlie and Billy Spoon both of Liberty and one granddaughter, Sparrow Hunt.

Jackie was born to Paul and Evelyn Spoon on June 14, 1964. He attended Southeast High School and GTCC. Jackie was employed by the Greensboro Fire Department in July, 1989 where he served most recently as Captain at station 11. He was a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team and the State of N.C. Regional Hazardous Materials Response Team and served as a member of the department’s uniform committee. Jackie also owned his landscaping business.
