James Gray Scott

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty; with Mark Shelley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park will be private.

James was the son of the late Thomas and Ruth Gray Scott. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Scott; and son, Matthew Scott.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 60 years, Ann Fox Scott; son, Mark Scott (Tina); grandchildren, James Cooper Scott and Thomas Elisha Scott; sister, Nancy Ruth Davis (Johnny); brother, Richard Scott (Pam); and several nieces and nephews.

James was a 1960 graduate of Summerfield High School. He served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Navy on the USS Forrestal. After his service, James spent 30 years as a Senior Service Technician for Xerox. James was a faithful child of God and served his church for many years as Sunday School Superintendent at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel.
