Karen "Kay" Deloris Hensley Shelton

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday January 3, 2025 at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow the service at Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Kay was the daughter of the late, William “Pete” Alvis Hensley Jr. and Sally Bachelor Hensley. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Denise Shoe and Evelyn Murry; and brother, Harold Hensley.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, Wayne Shelton; daughter, Jill Horvath (Kenny); grandchildren, Brittney Horvath, Cody Horvath, Cassie Horvath and Kenny Horvath, Jr.; and sisters, Doris Scott (Jimmy) and Jean Robbins (Reggie).

Kay always enjoyed working with flowers, trips to the beach and mountains with family, and was a lover of music. Above all, she loved her four grandchildren and had a special bond with her oldest granddaughter, Brittney. They will all miss her dearly.
