A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 10068 Silk Hope Liberty Road, Liberty.
Bud was the son of the late Jesse Limuel Sands and Nannie Mae Rierson Sands and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jessie Mae Clark and Shelby Jean Rogers and his brother, Gilmer Sands.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Fox Sands of the home; daughter, Dacia Sands and son, Roy Sands of Asheboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 10068 Silk Hope Liberty Road, Liberty, NC 27298 or Randolph County SPCA, 300 W. Bailey Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
