My thoughts and prayers are with all Marcia's family and friends. I always enjoyed seeing her. She was such a special lady. So very sorry to hear of Marcia’s illness and subsequent death.  She was a person who could be what you needed to be in any situation and almost always smiling.  I enjoyed the years we worked together; there wasn’t anything she would do if needed.  My condolences also to her family; I know she will be missed.  Rest easy Marcia.

Marcia Karen Marion Lavoie was the Granddaughter of Grannie Flo Baker (my baby-sitter at age 12) and the daughter of Doris Evlyn Baker Marion (who was my mother's best friend) and who would become my best friend as my mother-in-law throughout the remainder of her life. I met Marcia around 1967 right after she moved from Georgia back to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and after her daughter Christie was born.  After I graduated from High School I later fell in love with Marcia's youngest brother, William Ben Marion and dated him for 5 years and we were married on March 9, 1974, in the Methodist Church in downtown Fort Lauderdale.   On and off over all of those years, I either lived near Marcia, rented a room in her home or she lived with Ben and me in our home and we shared many life events together, some of which were very happy times or sometimes very sad when we both lost loved ones.  To say that I spent more time with her than my own two sisters who lived in other areas of the country at different times while raising their families, would be an understatement.  In every sense of the word, she was one of my "sisters".   Now that she has passed from this life, I move through my days without her being here and find that all the familiar places we traveled together bring back wonderful memories and I sorely miss her presence.  I will carry with me the love and memories we shared for the rest of my life.  Even though I am struggling with the loss of her presence, I know that she is free of pain. with the Lord and with those she loved who have gone before.   I thank God every day for the blessing of allowing me to have shared the Grace of her life which touched mine in so many deep and personal ways.  Marcia, (sometimes known as Cherokee by her friends and acquaintances) your presence is missed by all of us.

So sorry to hear about Ms La Voie’s passing.  She was always kind and sweet when she came in the post office.  You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.  She will be missed.

I was so very sad to learn of the passing of Marcia.  We worked at the same law firm for many years, but we were also friends outside of work.  We liked nothing better than going on our "junking" outings looking for that perfect "find".  We'd carefully check out each aisle, sometimes twice!  We had so much fun!  I will miss Marcia, our outings, her larger than life personality, her compassion for animals and the stories only she could tell!  My deepest sympathies to her family and prayers that their memories bring them comfort!

I have known Marcia since 1984 at first she was the lady with a beautiful smile.   Then she became the lady that gave great advice and hugs..  and soon she became that special aunt Marcia to our daughters, Savannah and Olivia.   Jorge and I loved going out with Marcia for a good cheeseburger and fries or at  Mykons  for chicken kebab.    I loved my time with her and was hoping to have more time with her..    I am grateful that she is at peace and  resting in God’s comforting arms.  She did her best as a  mom, grandma, daughter, sister and friend.

I am so sorry to hear about Marcia's passing. She said she was never giving up hope.
When I met Marcia 25 years ago at Brooks Pierce, it was so good to meet someone else from Florida. I grew up in Miami and spent a lot of my childhood in Ft. Lauderdale. We had some laughs about "those days".  She loved, loved, loved her family.  She was one of the strongest women I've ever known. 
I will keep your family uplifted in prayer.

I can’t believe you’re gone. I miss you so much Mom. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye 🙁🌸

I worked with Marcia for many years at the law firm and she was always so willing to lend a hand to staff members. No issue that we had was too much for her to handle and best of all, she always did it with a big smile.  I have many fond memories of Marcia. Thinking of Marcia’s family and Linda and Ben.

My sincere condolences to Marcia's family and friends! I will always remember meeting Marcia in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1970 when I took Ben home prior to his Army deployment to Germany.  She helped me have a fun visit and get acquainted with Fort Lauderdale and the beaches.  Yes, we were young then! Rest in Heaven's eternal peace Marcia!
