

A memorial service will be held at Sandy Creek Baptist Church at 4765 Sandy Creek Church Road in Liberty on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10 a.m.; burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian. Memorials may be spoken at the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 6, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home.
Margaret was born March 18, 1938 in Liberty. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Peele Pike and Coy E Pike, Sr, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her husband, Willis E. “Junior” Bowman, Jr. of Liberty, three children, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her daughter, Deborah H Castillo, son-in-law David R Castillo and granddaughter, Ryan Hoover resides in Winston Salem. Her son, Dennis E Bowman and Clara Morton reside in Snow Camp. Her son, Willis Darrell Bowman and wife, Cheryl resides in Staley. Grandsons Michael and Jeffery Bowman reside in Rockingham. Granddaughters Jamie Saunders resides in Coleridge and Christy Bowman resides in Maxton.
Margaret was married in 1955, had two of her three children before going back to school to graduate from Sylvan High School in 1960. She worked as a technician for many years in the textile industry. She was a domestic extraordinaire, amazing southern cook, talented seamstress and much more. She was a loving mother, dedicated wife and caring friend. She and Junior were married for 56 years on July 3. She was the heart of the family and will be greatly missed.
