A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty; burial will follow the service at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Marie was born on October 17th, 1934 in Walnut Cove, Stokes County, NC to the late L.R. Mabe and Mattie Whitten Mabe. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ralph Phillip Smith, Jr.; brothers, Elzie Mabe, Divers Mabe, Vance Mabe and Buddy Mabe; sisters, Margie Roberts, Nancy Campbell and Treva Mabe; and son-in-law, Travis Chadwick.
She leaves behind her daughter, Darlene Chadwick of High Point, NC; son, Vance Suits and his wife, Elizabeth, of Monroe, NC; sister, Mattie Fleming of Liberty, NC; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
