How can there be such sadness (at her absence from this earth) and great joy (that the earthly struggles are over) all rolled together?  Patsy was such an example of the verses in 1 Peter "Do not let your adornment be merely outward......rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God."  I had not been in contact with her in years, but that spirit and her warm smile is imprinted in my heart for as long as I live.  I am sorry I was not able to come pay my respects (mom had stroke the day Patsy passed) and I was helping dad deal with that.  Tim and Jerry - you, too, are held close in those memories.  Thoughts are with you.

Your Mom and Dad's comittment to God and their involvement at Wendover over the years was always evident and obvious in word and deeds.In those days the drive was a little more difficult than today.May God Bless and comfort yall in this time of sorrow. I was extremely close to Lincoln and Patsy in the 70s and every year thereafter. There are very few people on this earth as special as Lincoln and Patsy (Martha) Gantt.  Her upside down pineapple cake and the constant hospitality  she and her beloved husband Lincoln showed to others throughout their lifetime made an impact that lasts a lifetime for the rest of us.  She certainly was a true friend - and when I was in college at UNCG she was as loving as a second mom.  Her legacy will live on in the lives of those that she touched with her love. She had quite a  physical struggle in the last few years and  her determination, her honesty and her feisty spirit will always be an upward call to me when the going gets tough. I visited with her  at her home in Liberty just days before her health failed, and I will treasure those memories always. Love and prayers to each member of her family and to all who loved her Heaven is  absolutely a more beautiful place and I smile at the thought of a reunion between her and Lincoln   she never stopped loving him with all of her heart and I loved the way he used to call her "babe" with that twinkle in his eye.

Hi Gantt Family,
I went to church(Wendover) with your parents and was guest in their home years ago. She/They were one of a kind. I have very fond memories I will take to my resting place. Ms Patsy was a Lady, with kind spirit that will be missed and remembered by all that met her. God bless
