

Marvin was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a Sunday School Teacher and served as the Vice President of Tobacco Workers Union for more than 30 years. He was an avid Duke fan.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Milton Farmer, Rev. Kenny Black, Rev. Andy Clapp; burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marvin was the son of the late Phillip and Cassie Coble Cox and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Rachel Money, Verlia Bowman, Myrtle York, and Lena Shoffner; brothers, Glenn, Winfred, Willie, Alfred, John and R.C. Cox.
Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Wanda Farmer Cox; daughter, Sharon Cox; sons, Ronald Cox, Sr. (Debbie) and Randy Cox; grandchildren, Ron Cox, Jr., Nikki King, Patricia Heidinger, and Jennifer Lambert; great-grandchildren, Dylan Lambe, J.C. Mize, Austin Lambert, and Chase Lambert; great-great-grandchildren, Draven and Rose and special Yorkie, Sha-lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall Fund, PO Box 280, Alamance, NC 27201.
