

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Ronnie Kimble. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.
She was the daughter of the late James Staley and Mandy Clapp and was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Bowman; granddaughter, Zena Bowman; six sisters, Frances Greeson, Marty Brown, Pauline Brown, Julia Lucas, Helen Toomes and Ruth Toomes; and two brothers, Tom and Bill Staley.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Louise Bowman Kirkman of Julian and Margaret “Sally” Nixon of Liberty, one son, Robert “Buddy” Bowman of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Shannon Bondurant, Moniticia Weisner, Cyress Hall, Rodney Kirkman and Jimmy Nixon; five great-grandchildren, Brandi Laroche, Meghan Hall, Tyson E. Nixon, Candice Yagman and Zane Drohan; one great-great-grandchild, Jordan Laroche; one sister, Minnie Brown and two brothers, Eli Staley and Calvin Brown.
