Maxine Walker Martin

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 22 at 2:30 p.m. at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Nathan Snider and Rev. Alanda Harris; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty.

Maxine was the daughter of the late Edgar Arlendo and Bertie Autus Routh Walker and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Pierce Martin; daughter, Sylvia Martin Harris; son, John Bryant Martin; sisters, Geneva Roberts, Kathleen Lineberry, Evelyn Matthews and brothers, Carson, Claven, Elmer, Terrence, Ted and Neige Walker.

Surviving are her daughters, Joy Martin Walker (Charles) of Seagrove and Robin Martin Moore (Chris) of Grays Chapel; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
