Patricia Coble "Pat" Kivett, age 75, of Climax, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a brave three year battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
She was a 1967 graduate of Smith High School and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Wesley Long Hospital for two years following graduation and went on to become the Director of Nursing at Friends Homes West for 15 years. She retired from Surgical Center of Greensboro after 30 years of service. Throughout her nursing career, she had perfect attendance.
Pat was known for her pound cake. She enjoyed working on the farm where she was Wally's right hand. She loved gardening, birds, flowers, and going to the beach. She was the matriarch of her family and her family was her life. She was selfless in all her ways, always putting others first, never letting anyone see her pain. She was her family and friends health advisor. She could fix everyone, but we could not fix her.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 4765 Sandy Creek Church Road, Liberty, NC. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:45 p.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Samuel "L.S." and Mildred Frances McDowell Coble and was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Coble.
Pat is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wallace "Wally" Kivett; son, Chris Kivett and his wife, Nicole; grandson, Hunter Kivett (Gracie); granddaughter, Kaitlyn Kivett (Daylin); great-granddaughter, Presley Kivett; sisters, Dianne Starr and Gwyn Coble (Gerald), sisters-in-law, Tricia Coble and Paulette Kivett; brother-in-law, Eddie Kivett (Marie); numerous nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Willie Ellington.
