

He was raised at Hughes Memorial Home for Children in Danville, Virginia where he gained a whole new set of brothers and sisters and many fond memories. Through his marriage to Vivian in 1955 he joined the Brown family whom he cared for and loved deeply. He retired from the US Navy in 1974 and went on to retire from Triad Freightliner in Greensboro. He enjoyed gardening and working on his antique tractors.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. He will be laid to rest at Providence Friends Meeting Cemetery in Pleasant Garden.
He was the son of the late John and Myrtle Ammen Rash and was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Vivian Brown Rash; son, Tommy Rash; sisters, Evelyn and Doris; brothers, Jim, Lawrence, Harold, Ed and Robert.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Marie Rash; son, Dennis Rash (Arey); daughter-in-law, Debbie Rash; granddaughters, Heather Neilson (Lee), Bridgette Riedel (Dan), Megan Lineberry and Allison Hall (Baron); great-grandchildren, Haley Neilson, Hunter Neilson, Autumn Riedel, Lincoln Riedel and Brandon Hall.
