

She was a life member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church; she loved gardening and caring for other people. She retired from Liberty Hosiery Mill and worked at Georgia’s Candy Shop after retirement.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Liberty officiated by Pastor Tom Halberg; burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home.
She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Emma Campbell Glass and was also preceded in death by her husband, D.F. Stephens, son, Mike Stephens and brother, W.G. Glass
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Stephens Jessup (Jimmy) of Concord; sons, Pete Stephens (Brenda) and Chuck Stephens (Pam) of Liberty; sisters, Pauline G. Lloyd, Delores G. Sands, Catherine G. Perry; brother, Joe Glass; grandchildren, Brandon Reid Jessup, Wesley Barrett Jessup, Joe Stephens, Matt Stephens and Blake Stephens and six great-grandchildren.
