Just yesterday I was reflecting in a conversation on the impact of my friendship with Tom, and his teachings, on my life and my way of leading groups. Rest in peace my friend, I miss you and love you and am grateful to have had you as a mentor in my life~

Still missing Tom 2 short years after his passing, my thoughts are with his beloveds today~

Tom will remain dear to my heart always. I miss hearing his voice, though I really can still hear it, along with all his good humor and kindness and curiosity.  Good friends are never forgotten~ With warm wishes and continued condolences to his beloved family, Gil

Tom was a good, good man with courage and humor and love. I shall miss him and appreciate all that he gave me in this life.

Uncle Tom was a part of my life from literally day one.  I will always remember his fun sense of humor, and trips with families to the mountains and beach.   Rest In Peace.

I count Tom among the deepest positive influences, and most cherished friends, of my life. I studied ethics with him as an undergrad in the early 80's, and continued to visit by phone or in person, sometimes bringing my kids along with me, up to the present. His capacity to form community in the classroom inspired my own career as a teacher. Tom knew how to create spaces in which higher levels of communication and learning could flourish. He was also a funny man, ever joking, and sometimes provoking, always to higher levels of discourse and consideration. I will miss him keenly. My sincerest condolences to Pat, Theron, and Mary Paige, and all those whom Tom's warmth has reached over so many years. I always asked after his "kids" on our visits, and he loved you all very dearly~

Tom McCollough was one of the finest people I have ever met.  He was was my professor at Duke University in the 1970s teaching ethics.  And I will say he had a profound influence on all of his students.  In the 1990s nearing his retirement, over 100 of his past students returned to campus for a full weekend of ethical reflection, and to thank a man who had so impacted their thinking.  I was fortunate enough to call him a friend over the years, and to the last he remained a keen observer with a sharp mind and a kind, loving heart.  He was a calming presence in these hard times.  Farewell, my friend.
