The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
Born in Springfield, Illinois, Vi was the daughter of the late Samuel and Irene Meanor. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Russell Winfree; sister, Sandy Johnson; and brothers, Buzz Billips and Bob Billips.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 40 years, Edward Finkenbinder; daughter, Tracy Brown (Larry); sons, Edward Finkenbinder and Jesse Winfree; grandchildren, Tanin Brown (Nikki), Matthew Brown (Yexe), Morgan Moler (Gage), Austyn Winfree and Mason Winfree; great grandchildren, Graham Moler and Arya Brown-Sylva; and special niece, Tonya Kooley (Jay).
Vi owned and operated Cozy Country Kennels and Birds by Vi in Liberty for 27 years; her true passion and dream come true. She was a lover of animals, a wonderful caretaker of her family, and a true nurturer by nature. Above her business, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and “GiGi”. One of her favorite memories to make was her and Ed’s yearly horseback ride on the beach. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.
The family will be creating a memorial rose garden in Vi’s memory and requests that rose bushes be donated in her honor.
Other donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the following: Hospice of Randolph County, https://www.hospiceofrandolph.org/donate/ OR First Candle SIDS Organization, firstcandle.org OR American Cancer Society, cancer.org
