Arline was born Arline Rhoda Perlhoff to Morris and Ida Perlhoff on August 6, 1926. She grew up primarily in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn and in Monticello, NY. She married Howard Alexander on July 25, 2012 in Scarsdale, NY. She worked as a dress designer in the NYC garment district for almost 25 years. She was involved in politics, having both marched in Washington for civil rights in the 1960s and worked on several Democratic Party committees. As an extreme liberal, Arline was an avowed Trump opponent. Her final years were spent in her beloved Wynmoor Village condominium where she enjoyed a “forever summer”.
Arline is preceded in death by her son James Handsman.
Arline is survived by her son Benjamin Prayz and daughter Beth Handsman.
Burial took place at Pompano Beach Cemetery on October 17, 2019. Arrangements were made by Horizon Funeral Home.
