We are saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Harde Taylor, 31, of Boca Raton, Florida. Ben passed surrounded by family and loved ones on May 17, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Valerie and Kenneth Finucan, his father, David Taylor, his brother, Nicholas Taylor, and his stepsister, Meagan Finucan Toro (Evan Toro). He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Cecile McCauley, and his paternal grandparents
Benjamin was born on January 25, 1993 to Valerie A. Finucan and David H. Taylor in Coral Springs, Florida. After Benjamin graduated from Spanish River High School he worked various jobs before moving to Orlando for school. He then lived in California, and later Anchorage, Alaska where he earned his degree from the University of Anchorage Alaska. After a brief year in Maryland he came home to Boca Raton, with his loving companion Buddy, his black labrador retriever. Ben was a very mentally and physically strong guy who also completed the half Iron Man race in Pensacola, Florida in 2019. Ben enjoyed helping others and had recently received his NASM CPT Certification to become a personal trainer. His last position was at HiiT56 of Boca Raton where he added great value and was very well liked by the owner, Pam, and the members.
The best time of Ben’s adult life came when he was living with his (predeceased) cousin, Ryan McCauley, in Candler, North Carolina. Ben and Ryan connected on so many levels: love of the outdoors, guns, music, and just having fun in life. Now they are united in the Kingdom of Heaven, forever hiking to waterfalls and having fun.
There will be a funeral mass for Ben held at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church , 2700 NE 36th St, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064 on Thursday May 23 2024 at 9:30 am.
