Kathleen L. Lloyd

Kathy was born on April 08, 1936 and grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia.  She received her education degree from West Virginia University. After graduation, she moved to Florida and met her beloved husband, L. Judson Lloyd. They were married at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  

Kathy taught school at Deerfield Beach Elementary for several years before retiring. She enjoyed nature and was a founding member of the Blooming Bunch Garden Club of Lighthouse Point. She was active in a book group and an investment club that she helped start. She loved to ‘lunch’ with all of her friends, including her teacher group. She was also a skilled solitaire player and a fan of Sudoku puzzles. A granddaughter of a dairy farmer, she always ended her day with a bowl of Moose Tracks ice cream.

Kathy was a faithful member of Community Presbyterian Church in Deerfield Beach, serving as Deacon for several terms. She also enjoyed weekly fellowship and learning with her Spanish River Bible Study group. 

Kathy spent the summer months in Hayesville, NC enjoying the mountains, babbling creek, flowers, and dinners with her NC friends. 

Kathy was a kind person and loving mother and grandmother who always had a positive attitude and a smile. She will be truly missed and leaves a beautiful legacy of caring, service, and devotion to her family, her church, and her community. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, attorney, L. Judson Lloyd. 

She is survived by her children, Susan Fitzsimmons (William) of Parkland, FL and Stephen Lloyd (Allison) of Coral Springs, FL. Kathy is also survived by six grandchildren: Thomas, Paige, James, and Lauren Fitzsimmons; and Olivia and Jack Lloyd. She also leaves behind Lindy, her faithful golden retriever.  

A private graveside service will be held due to current restrictions. She will be laid to rest at Deerfield Beach Memorial Cemetery next to her husband.
