It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Sandy Hutchings, 85, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Sunday, November 5, 2023, following a brief recurrence of the cancer she courageously battled 6 years ago.
Sandy was a beautiful example of strength, resilience, and kindness, and will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her. We take comfort in the belief she’s in the presence of God and reunited with the family she so loved and missed.
Born on September 10, 1938, in Morenci, Michigan, Sandy loved living in Pompano Beach, Florida for the past 58 years. A retired banker, she enjoyed golf, spending time with family, serving the community, and recently enjoyed volunteering with the Broward Sheriffs C.O.P program. Sandy also had a heart for the homeless, often carrying items in her car to assist those in need. Her genuine concern for others touched the hearts of family, friends, and even strangers who briefly crossed her path.
Sandy is survived by her devoted children, Kent Hutchings, Kimberly Hutchings, Lisa Boller (Dan), Laurel Spalding (Jodie), and Shari Tagliarini (Darren), along with 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother Richard Bancroft, cherished cousins, and a host of dear friends and family members. She is preceded in death by husband William Hutchings, loving parents Donald and Margery Bancroft and grandson Joshua Boller.
Honoring her wishes, a private service will be held upon her return to her beloved hometown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hope South Florida, www.hopesouthflorida.org, 1100 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
