Catherine Owens Miller

Catherine Miller, 73, of Lima, died at 7:40 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Springview Manor. She was born on Jan. 15, 1938, in Hubb, Mississippi, to Rayford and Carrie Owens who preceded her in death. On Mar. 22, 1970, she married Paul “Cousy” Miller who died on Dec. 17, 2008.

Mrs. Miller loved the Lord. She was an active member of New Life Christian Ministries Church. She was a loving homemaker who made everyone feel welcome. One of her greatest attributes was her ability to show love and kindness. Through her hobbies of bingo, billiards and bowling, she fostered many loving relationships that endured the test of time. She held several offices and positions within the W.I.B.C. She was an avid gardener with the special touch to make anything grow. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family.

Surviving are 4 daughters: Cynthia (Jeff) Glover-Cousey, Donna Glover, Machelle (Henry) Glover-Brown and Elisa K. (Pilate, Jr.) Bradley, and two special daughters, Lynette Thomas and Diane Cheatom all of Lima; twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a sister: Carrie Monson of Akron and two brothers: Lonnie (Tina) Owens and Rayford Owens both of Akron. She adored her many nieces and nephews, with a special place in her heart for Derrick Owens of Maryland. She also leaves behind her Jack Russell Terror, Snickerz.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Setora Johnson; her sisters: Ruby Bell and Laura Estelle Bright-McNeal; her stepson, Paul Miller, Jr.; her mother-in-law, Geneva Miller and her sister-in-law, Hildred (John) Gwinn.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Rev. Edward L. Tibbs officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
