

David Dale Walker, 71, of Elida, died at 8:48 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at his residence. He was born Feb. 18, 1940, in Adams County, Indiana, to David Wilson and Nettie Mildred (Ervin) Walker who preceded him in death. On August 5, 1961, he married Rosa Lee Pearson who survives.
Mr. Walker was a graduate of Portland High School, in Portland, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1960. He was a journeyman electrician and was educated at Owens Tech in Toledo, OH. He had retired from General Dynamics after 30 years of service, and retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant after 7 ½ years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #370, Lima. He was a western square dancer and belonged to Hic’s & Chicks, Sue’s and Ques and St. Mary’s Tri Squares. He was a woodworker who loved to make things in his workshop for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two daughters: Rose Marie (David) Keysor of Lima and Vickie D. (Charles “Bill”) Coil of St. Marys; extended family: Cindy & Marty Dupuis of Rossford; grandchildren: William Dana & Keshia Douglas of Commerce, GA, Jeremy & Jeannie Deller of St. Marys, Christopher Douglas of Elida, Nicole & Beth Imber of St. Marys, Charles & Jacki Coil of Wapakoneta, Amanda Keysor of Shawnee and Tiffany Dupuis of Rossford; Great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Kenny, Emma, Gretchen, Madison, Cody, Autumn, Destiny, Gracie, Alexus, Thiresah, Anastasia and Jude; 3 siblings: Dorothy Burgess, Doris Ann (Tom) Zimmerman and Perry (Connie) Walker all of Portland, IN; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Viola Diane Walker, and grandparents, John & Besse (Franies) Ervin and Perry Layton and Armena (Huffman) Walker.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dottie Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
