Dawn Marie Stricker Sanders

.Dawn Marie Sanders, 51 of Lima, passed away Saturday morning, July 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born on July 24, 1964 in Denver, Colorado to William Delbert and Betty Marie Spurlock Stricker. She was preceded in death by her father William and grandmother Olive, and her mother, Betty resides in California. On Dec 6, 1991, she married Nicholas “Nick” Jerome Sanders and he survives.

Her survivors also include her dear children, Melanie Dawn Jasnikowski of Columbus, OH, Daniel Scott (Charlee) Sanders of LaPoint, Utah, Shawn Michael (Stacy) Sanders of Centerville, OH Anthony David (Alison) Sanders of Galloway, OH, Gregory Warren (Coral) Sanders of Mingo Junction, OH and Mariah Anne Sanders of Lima, OH. She is survived by fourteen precious grandchildren who are near and dear to her heart; her four siblings: Beverly, Betty, Cynthia and Charlie.

Mrs. Sanders had been employed as a teacher for the Elida Middle School for the past 8 years. Prior to that, she was a claims representative for State Farm Insurance, Lima for many years. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she was a member of the Teacher’s Union where she served as the secretary. She was a graduate of the Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a bachelor’s degree in business and she received her master’s degree in teaching from The Ohio State University.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1195 Brower Rd. Lima, Ohio 45801. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Family and friends of Mrs. Sanders may call Friday, July 8 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the church.
