

Diana Bowen McLaughlin, 62 of Lima passed away 11:05 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at St Rita’s Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on March 9, 1953 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to William Ellis Bowen & Jean (Greer) King who preceded her in death. She was formerly married to Jimmie McLaughlin.
Diana is survived by her twin daughters, Alissa (Speedy Tucker) Oglesbee of Lima, Amy (Daniel) Flaute of Wapakoneta, seven grandchildren, Norman Vorhees, Jr.,Connor Impara, Colten Rice, Brayden Rice, Jordon Oglesbee, Landon Oglesbee and Caydon McLaughlin. She is also survived by her five sisters, Brenda (Ken) Hall of Elida, Judy Cox, Sheila Berry, Debra (Michael) Neeley and Penny (David) Williams all of Lima. She will be dearly missed by her beloved nieces and nephews.
Diana was a 1971 graduate of Bath High School and she attended BGSU. She had worked at the Allen County Board of DD where she was a workshop supervisor. She managed several group homes in Lima.
She was preceded in death by a stepfather Donald E. King, and a brother-in-law: Thomas Cox.
Diana was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Powhattan, Kansas; she was the leader of her “sister posse”. Diana will always be cherished for her strength, humor and unconditional love. She was so forgiving and always saw the best in everyone. She enriched the lives of everyone she met and her smile will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Brock and Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 23 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and again Friday 1 hour prior to the time of the service at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME.
