

Dwight Wayne Parlette, 68, of Lima, died at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, May 04, 2014, at his residence. He was born March 29, 1946, in Toledo, to Wilbur Charles and Lola Iona (Delong) Parlette who preceded him in death. On June 6, 1964, he married Nancy J. Newland who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Todd Alan Parlette, Allison Faye (Brett) Condon and Melissa Renee (Keith) Rambin all of Lima, and Jennifer Kaye (Trent) Hammer of West Mansfield. Ten grandchildren also survive him: Cassandra Condon, Brooke Condon, Brianna Parlette, Chase Parlette, Austin Parker, Evan Parker, Emily Parker, Abigail Hammer, Mason Hammer and Rachel Hammer. Three step grandsons also survive Tyler Rambin, Hunter Rambin and Collin Rambin. Plus, his favorite great-grandchild, Tyler Bloomfield survives.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Doris Parlette; his mother-in-law, Emogene Evers; his fathers-in-law, Louis Evers and Byron Newland; brother-in-law, Lt. Jeff Newland; and granddaughter, Ashley Parker.
Mr. Parlette retired from General Dynamics as a welder. He had also been employed at Lima Superior, Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton, Westinghouse, was a supervisor at Dana and worked at Arvin Meritor in Kenton.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Cairo Lions Club and the Moose Lodge in Lima. He attended Bath High School, enjoyed his dogs, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, coin collecting and NASCAR.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Pastor Kent Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. in SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME.
