Esther E. Laing

She was born October 11, 1917 in Lima, OH to Edward L. & Rosetta M. (Hager) Emig. On January 14, 1937, she married Roy L. Laing who preceded her in death in 1994. Esther’s employment history included sales at various local retailers. Prior employment was at Lima Westinghouse Motors.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Judith Smith, her son Charles “Bud” and his wife, Linda Laing, all of Duluth, GA; three grandchildren Gary “Tyke”, Alecia, and Kevin; 12 great grandchildren Alana, Andraya, Danielle, Haleigh, Olivia, Alli, Zoey, Curt, Connor, Addison, Laney, Gabriel; one great-great granddaughter, Myranda . Additionally, Esther is survived by a brother, Kenneth R. Emig, Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Miriam and Maxine and one brother, Charles Emig.

Throughout Esther’s 97 years she enjoyed many miles of travel with family and friends. After moving to the South 3 years ago her happiest hours were spent in visitation with grandchildren and sharing in their hugs and love.

Graveside service will take place 10 A.M on Monday January 12, 2015 at Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum 3000 E. Harding Hwy, Lima, OH, with Pastor Sam Payne officiating.

Visitation will be the day prior, Sunday January 11, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Road, Lima, OH.
