Frank Williams

Frank Williams, 88 of Lima passed away 12:29 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Lima Memorial Health Systems in the ER. He was born on January 12, 1923 in Prestonsburg, KY to Early and Josephine (Neely) Williams and they preceded him in death. He was married to Joyce Bernice Kindle and she survives him in Lima.

Frank was a retired pipefitter at Clark Equipment and he worked as a maintenance man. He was a member of the Lima Missionary Baptist Church, he was a member of the V.F.W Post 1275 and of the American Legion Post 96. He was an Army veteran serving during WWII with the 11th Airborne , he was a paratrooper in the South Pacific and the Philippines. During this tour of duty he received a Purple Heart and had been wounded twice.

He is survived by his children: Judy Wright, Tim (Alice) Williams both of Lima and Tony Williams of Sidney. He leaves his grandchildren: Clint (Jennifer) Wright, Shanda Wright, Heaven Williams, Danielle Williams, Tony Williams, Jr; Frankie Williams and Sophia Williams, his great grandchildren, Kayla Wright, Ashleigh Wright, Braydon Wright, Tiffany Kline, Jeremy Rex, Logan Harshfield and Allison Wise; his siblings: Bobbie (Aubry) Wyatt of Detroit, Gladys Bays of Maysville, KY and John (Sheila) Williams of Prestonsburg, KY.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings: Rob Williams, Hazel Hahn, Virginia Hempker, Maida Vorhees, Goldie Snipes, Roy Earl Williams and Betty Stephenson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July18, 2011 at the Lima Missionary Baptist Church with Rev Terry Brock, officiaiting. Burial will follow in Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio.

Family and friends may call Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Lima V.F.W. Post 1275 at the cemetery.
