Gene Wesley Stubbs

Gene Wesley Stubbs, 86, of Lima, died at 10:10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 in Springview Manor. He was born June 20, 1931 in Lima to William Cordell and Virginia (Workman) Stubbs who preceded him in death. On Apr. 25, 1955,he married Agnes Miller who survives.

Also surviving is a son: Kevin Stubbs of Lima and a sister, Luana (Tony) Ewing of Westminster.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa A. Stubbs who died May 22, 1983; and the following siblings: Larry Stubbs, Monty Stubbs and Ginger Lackey.

Mr. Stubbs retired from Dana Corporation, after 23 years, where he was in purchasing and production control. He was a 1949 graduate of Lima South High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where he was a founding member and past president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 370 Lima. He enjoyed reading novels and attending Lima Senior and L.C.C. sporting events.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 in Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
