

Harold Thomas Stewart, 92, of Lima, died at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born April 11, 1922, in Ft. Dodge, IA, to J.T. and Cora (Bittinger) Stewart who preceded him in death. On Nov. 16, 1943, he married Doreen M. Hanrahan who died on Jan. 10, 2011.
He is survived by his children: twins Jim (Lynda) Stewart of Lima and Kathy Cronican of Cincinnati, Dan (Cindy) Stewart of Wolcottville, IN, Pat (Lorna) Stewart of Lima, Mary Beth (Gary) Timmons of Loveland, Sheila (Matt) Hoffmann of Columbus, Diane (Harry) Marshall of Elida, Bill (Cheryl) Stewart of Columbus and Karen (Brad) Huston of Wilder, KY; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul F. Cronican, and two sisters, Vera and Gertrude.
Mr. Stewart retired as a sales representative for Ft. Dodge Laboratories. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #2661 where he was a past Grand Knight, B.P.O.E. Lodge #54, F.O.E. Aerie #370, V.F.W. Post 1275 and American Legion Post #96 all of Lima. He was also a member of Gethsemani Cemetery Board.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. David Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery with military rites bythe Spencerville V.F.W. Post 6772 and the United States Army Honor Guard.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, from 2-7 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
