Helen Louise Hanes Keller

Helen Louise Keller, 81 of Lima passed away Wednesday September 22, 2010 at her residence in Lima. She was born on May 8, 1929 in Lima to Adrian Harold and Mary Pauline (Clem) Hanes and they preceded her in death. On May 8, 1984 she married James A. Keller and he passed away in April of 2009. She had previously been married to Herbert V. Schneider who also preceded her in death.

Helen was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at the Oak’s Convalescent Home for 15 years. She was also a Homemaker, loving mother, grandma and great grandma. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, she was very patriotic, loved playing Euchre, Wii and doing crossword puzzles.

Her survivors include her children: David H. Schneider of Richmond, VA; Diana K. Schneider of Lima, Larry W. (Jai Youn) Schneider of Simi Valley, CA; and Nancy L. (Ronald) Davis of Lima. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shari A. Tallarico, Derek M. Schneider, Jen M. Schneider- Gersick, Amy L. Griffin, Lori A. Diefenbacher, John M. Diefenbacher, Janel Y. Schneider, Larry W. Schneider, Jr., Heather L. Kohli and Jeffrey D. Davis, twelve great grandchildren and her siblings: Adrian (Peggy) Hanes of Columbus and Paul (Nancy) Ruble of Dayton.

Along with her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Clarence Hanes and Lester “Bud” Ruble.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday 2-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society
