Helen L. Smith Patterson

Helen L. Patterson, 83, of Lima passed away 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Otterbein of Cridersville. She was born November 19, 1927, in Lima to Vilis William & Amy Barbara (Protsman) Smith and they preceded her in death. On July 29, 1949, she married James Edward Patterson who passed away on September 28, 1997.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Sue (Rick) Schmidt and Tammy Lynn (Dean) Frysinger both of Lima; a sister Norma Jane Taylor of Lima; six grandchildren: Jim (Christy Frymeyer) Lauck, Ryan (Angie) Lauck, Angie (Terry Collier) Lauck, Jonathon (Shannon) Schmidt, Laura (Colt) Morris, Alisha (Andrew) Conne ten great grandchildren: Riley, Pierson, Peyton, Ethan, Jayce, Terris, Skya and Lily, Madison and Kaidence and one more due in January; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline Ann (Thomas) Lauck; and her siblings, Kenneth Smith, Mary Eileen Nance, Annabelle Ruth Smith and Jack Smith.

Mrs. Patterson never met a person who she didn’t start a conversation with.

Helen was employed by several local motels; she worked at Moreo Bowling Alley and DWG Cigar Factory.

Funeral Services will be Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Bluelick Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday, from Noon until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
