

Janice Jean Turley, 79, of Lima, died Tuesday April 5, 2011, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 21, 1932 in Van Wert, Ohio to Robert Eugene and Eleanor Arlene (Ridenour) Newbury. She was a 1950 graduate of Van Wert High School. She was formerly married to Mark J. O’Brien of Van Wert and Donald F. Turley of Lima.
Throughout her life, Janice worked at several area nursing homes as a nurses’ aide. She loved caring for the elderly. In her later years, she worked at Wal Mart and Meijer. She also volunteered for several years at St. Rose Bingo. She truly loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by two sons, James Patrick (Terri) O’Brien of Columbus, and David Scott Turley of Lima, three grandchildren, René Anne (Jeff) Smith of Columbus, Shawn Patrick O’Brien of Orlando, FL, and Jevin Austin Lee Turley of Sidney, former husband Donald F. Turley of Lake Placid, FL and several cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Connie Newbury, a son Jeffrey M. O’Brien, and former husband Mark J. O’Brien.
In keeping with Janice’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial gift to St. Rose Catholic Church, 222 S. West Street, Lima, OH 45801. Arrangements have been entrusted to Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
