Larry was born in Lima, OH on August 1, 1942 to William Eugene & Marguerite (Murphy) Barker who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Lawson. He graduated from Bowling Green State University, with a Bachelor’s degree in education. On August 20 1966, he married his favorite teammate in life, Joyce (Collins) Barker who survives. He played college baseball at Bowling Green State University, and he also tried out for the Detroit Tiger’s baseball team. He was an avid golfer, and loved watching his grandkids play ball. His family, friends, and players will remember him lovingly.
