

Lennie Frances (Burkholder) Grant, 97, of Lima, died at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Lost Creek Care Center. She was born July 10, 1915, in Lima, to Casper and Mary Catherine (Derror) Burkholder who preceded her in death. On Dec. 8, 1951, she married Carl F. Grant, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1986.
Mrs. Grant had been employed at the Woolworth Store, the Tank Depot and at Perry Schools. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and had been involved in Boy Scouts in Lima, Brownies and Girl Scouts in Perry, C.C.L., and was Past President of the Perry P.T.A. She had been on the Allen County Board of Elections and the Allen County Women’s Democratic Club, the Perry Democratic Club and a volunteer with the Johnny Appleseed Park District.
Surviving are two children: Cathy (Richard) Kohli of Lima and Walter “Jim” (Miriam “Kay”) Klinefelter of Lima; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Two grandchildren also preceded her in death: Marla and John Klinefelter; and the following siblings: John, Julius, Ernest, Welty, Elmer, Harry, William, Gardner, James, Theodore and Nellie Burkholder and Emily Reedy.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 11, 2013, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Couser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Thursday at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church or the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.
