

Leonard John Fox, 91 passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family at 8:00 a.m., on the 23rd of November, 2014 at Burton’s Ridge.
Len was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 10, 1923 to Herman J. and Margaret Galdun Fox who preceded his death.
On December 28, 1948 Len married Joan Shidler Robertson who died on Apr. 11, 2013.
He is survived by his children Lynn (Tom) McNeff of Houston, TX., Mike (Pam) Fox of Lima, Marcia (Tom) Conaway of Lima, Bruce (Cindy) Fox of Columbus, Diane (Tom) Wilson of Naperville, IL, Barb (Bob) Patterson of Bradenton, FL., and Brian (Cindi) Fox of Columbus; one daughter-in-law Jean Fox of Sarasota, FL; one sister-in-law Marilyn Fox of Cleveland and 19 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son William J. Fox, Len’s wife Joan Robertson Fox, a brother, Norbert Fox and Great Grandchild Addison Vacchiano.
He joined the Unites States Navy Air and became a pilot and later a Second Lieutenant in the Marines. Later, Len attended BGSU where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity along with Joan’s brothers who introduced Len to Joan. He was a graduate of Purdue University majoring in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. He worked for Westinghouse Aerospace Division for 24 years and designed the AC/DC Conversion System for the Space Shuttle, then retired in 1986.
Even though he was an active Deacon at St. Charles Catholic Church, Boy Scouts and Cursillo he always made his role as loving Husband and Father come first. He loved his family and has given them an abundance of love and amazing memories. He made time for each individual child.
Visitation will be at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., in St. Charles Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, with Fr. J. Norbert Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery with military rites by V.F.W. Post 1275 and the United States Marine Corp. honor guard. Condolences may be made to www.siferd-oriansfuneralhome.com.
