Olga Mae Payne Jennings

Olga Mae (Payne) Jennings, 87 of Lima died 2:45 a.m., Wednesday morning May 12, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Jennings was born on October 21, 1922 in Logan County, Ohio to: Howard and Helen (Dempsey) Payne and they preceded her in death. On March 17, 1947 she married Orville “Jack” Jennings, Sr. and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1993.

Mrs. Jennings worked as a Nurse’s Aide at SRMC and Lima City Schools for over 10 years, she was the director of the Day Care for Wesley UMC for 4 years, she had been employed by Champagne Residence as a Caregiver for 11 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Harvest Church. She also won numerous awards.

Olga is survived by her children: Orville J. (Debra) Jennings, Jr., Louis H.(Sharon) Jennings, Elizabeth James, Ruby (Julius) Smith, Jacqueline (Jimmy) Gilcrease, Bonnie (Jeffory) Edwards, Julia Briggs and a ‘special’ daughter: Becky Gephart all of Lima. She is also survived by twenty seven grandchildren, forty nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law: Harrietta (Thomas)Moss of Lima and Betty (Leroy) Williams of Dayton. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

Along with her parents and her husband she is preceded in death by a son: Anthony Jennings, a sister: Isabelle Moss, her brothers: Herbert Payne and John Payne and three grandchildren: Anthony Edwards, Aaron Edwards and Larry Briggs.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Cornerstone Harvest Church with Pastor Herb Ford, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Family and friends of the Jennings family can call Sunday May 16, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima, Ohio.
