R. Wayne Hinds

R. Wayne Hinds, 71 of Lima died 1:05 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at SRMC. He was born in Cleveland, TN to Henry H. & Della M. (Brown) Hinds, Sr. and they preceded him in death. On June 11, 1960 he married Rosemary K. Miller and she survives him.

He is also survived by a daughter, Carrie K. (Matthew B.) Schenecker of Arcanum, Ohio; his grandchildren: Breanna K. Schenecker and Jacob A. Schenecker. He is also survived by his siblings: Henry H. (Lois) Hinds, Jr. of Lima, Linda F. (Rod) Smith of Findlay, a sister-in-law: Mary E. Hinds of Plainwell, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

Mr. Hinds was a retired toolmaker from Teledyne Ohio Steel. He received an associate’s degree from OSU in mechanical engineering. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, travelling, boating, hiking and camping. He will be remembered as a great storyteller. He was a past member of the Lima Moose Lodge, the Lima Eagles, and the Florida Elks. He was a current member of the Florida Moose Lodge. He also volunteered at SRMC.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Louise Hinds, N. Jean Watson and James G. Hinds, a niece: Barbara E. Hinds and two nephews: Craig E. and Jeffrey Hinds.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 at the Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John M. Person, officiating.

Family and friends may call Monday, May 10, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Siferd-Orians Funeral Home 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima, Ohio.
