

Shirley A. Dixon, 74, of Lima, died at 3:08 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born Jan. 11, 1943 in Frankfort, IN to Wilbur F. and Helen C. (Kirk) Hover, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 7, 1975, she married Paul Newell Dixon who died June 14, 1993.
Mrs. Dixon’s family consists of: a daughter, Sherri Mason (Thomas) Davidson and her children, Carrie Kerr and Justin Kerr; a son who preceded her in death, Gregory Mason, and his daughter, Nicole Lutz; a stepdaughter, Stacey Dixon-Zimmerly and her children, Ashley Arn and John Zimmerly; a stepson, Timothy Dixon. U.S. Army SFC (Airborne) and his daughter, Chelsey Cook. She is also survived by fifteen and a half great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hover and her loyal four-legged companion, Snoopy.
A brother, Richard Hover, Sr., also precedes her in death.
Mrs. Dixon had been a telephone operator for many years at United Telephone. She was also a server at Blue Peaks and had been employed at Phar-Mor. She loved the Discovery Channel and The Pet Channel.
Services will begin at 2:30 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Dove officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from Noon until 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
