Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Treva Gerdes, and his brother, Joe Gerdes. He is survived by his son, Mathew; daughter-in-law, Angela; grandsons, Aiden and Asher; brothers, Jim and Richard; sisters-in-law, Jaylene and Sue; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry found great joy in woodworking and metalworking, educating and mentoring his son, debating with friends and family, and spoiling his daughter-in-law and grandsons.
Larry proudly served in the U.S. Army and worked as an ironworker with Local 118 for 36 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
