

Born on January 5, 1948, in Randolph Field, Texas, he eventually relocated to California where he attended and graduated from North Highlands High School in North Highlands, CA. Upon graduation Steve attended and graduated from California State University in Sacramento, CA with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in July 1972.
Steve joined The United States Marine Corps Reserve, which he proudly served for many years. Steve worked as a Business Tech Specialist for the California State Board of Equalization for 25 years until retirement.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Arlene Macken, as well as his brother, Kevin Macken.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dottie” Macken of Sun City Lincoln Hills, Lincoln, CA.; his extended family, Holly Murray of Kalispell, MT; Tommy Denton of Fleming Island, FL; and Timothy Levi of Pollock Pines, CA; his brother, Jim Macken of Brookings, OR; his sister Marlys Macken of Waunakee, WI. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
During his retirement, Steve enjoyed golfing with his Sun City buddies, watching 49ers football, and was avid fan of Stereo Equipment, and enjoyed listening to all types of music.
There are no services to be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. They also wish to express their deep appreciation for the outpouring of support during this difficult time. Steve’s presence will be missed deeply, but his legacy of love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
