Adelia Amelia Price, age 93, passed away on February 19, 2025 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on May 25, 1931 in Batesland, South Dakota to Harry and Edna H. Gothridge. She was adopted by Gilbert and Nettie Taylor.
She grew up in Clearwater, Nebraska where she graduated from Clearwater High School in 1949. She then attended Kearney State College where she studied school-teaching. She married John Robert Price Sr. on July 21, 1951 and they were married for 60 years until John’s passing on September 3, 2010. From this union, five children were born. Adelia was a very supportive wife and mother as John served his country in the military during three foreign wars. She worked a variety of retail positions in Lincoln along with retiring from Eastmont Towers after 17 years as a prep cook. She volunteered for several churches and was graciously saved by our Lord Jesus Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking. Adelia was extremely hard-working and loving. She taught all of her children to be strong and courageous.
Adelia is survived by her children, Luella (Marty) Watson, Crystal (Terry) Hier, Beatrice Buchholz, Jacque (Donald) Brown, John (Katey) Price-Dodge; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; blessed with many great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna (Gothridge) Parent and Grace (Gothridge) Cole; many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, John; parents; thirteen siblings; and daughter, Mary Helen.
A visitation for Adelia will be held on Friday February 28, 2025 from 9:00 AM-10:00AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512; followed by a funeral service at 10:00AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials in Adelia’s honor are in the care of the family for future designation. Arrangements entrusted to Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska.
