

Alice Louise Franks, 92, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. She was born in Orange, TX to John and Lorena (Vincent) Rountree. Alice later moved to Hackberry, LA where she attended High School. Alice met and married her husband of 59 years in Orange, TX. After moving to Lincoln, she and husband Lee opened a small tavern in 1945 that would later become Lee’s Chicken near Pioneers Park, seating nearly 500 people. She also attended the University of Nebraska majoring in Business Administration. Alice retired in 1969, but found passion in gardening, entertaining, cooking, traveling, the Arts and learning French. She helped numerous organizations, many individuals and her family. She touched so many lives and will be truly missed. Survivors: Daughters: Mary Clee (Chuck) Schuerman, Leta Maree Haupt, and Deborah Lee (Steve) Young. Grandchildren: Bruce (Kerry) Haupt, Cammie Schuerman, David Schuerman, Diane Mayer, Brian Franks, Ashley (Kyle) Fults, Andrew (Christy) and Hunter Young. Great-Grandchildren: Christina and Miles Mayer, Heather Haupt, Brandon and Brandi Franks, Courtney Holt, Kaden Broeker, Emmy and Avery Fults. Many special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Husband, Lee B Franks, parents. Brothers: J.P., Richard and Hoyt Rountree and 2 Half Brothers. Son: Ted Franks. Great-Grandson: Dylan Fults.
