Barbara I. Love

Barbara Love, 94, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on April 9, 2026. Barbara was born February 15, 1932, in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, to Harold and Jessie (Brown) Bills. A kind-hearted presence throughout her life, she was one of four children. Before starting elementary school, her family relocated to Lincoln. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950.

Barbara’s first job was at the Russell Stover Candy Factory. She later served as a para-educator at Huntington Elementary, where she built meaningful connections over the years. She retired in 1997 after 25 years of dedicated service.

Barbara met Robert Love when they were in middle school together. They were married in Lincoln on August 7, 1949, and together raised four children.

She enjoyed having coffee with the friends she made at Huntington and liked to read. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren. True to her sweet nature, she also had a bit of a sweet tooth and loved Snickers candy bars.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, her daughter, Cathy Roach, two of her sisters, Neola Cody and Donna Love and her brother, Wayne Bills.

She is survived by her daughters Lynne Peterson and Sue Parker, and her son David Love; Grandchildren Stacy Jester, Carissa Kluck, Joshua Love, Jennifer (Chad) Wiles, Jason (Runeta) Eisenman and Zachary Love; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512, at 2:30 pm with a visitation one hour prior.
