

Carolyn Alice Booton, passed away in her sleep, Friday, May 2, 2014, in her home in Lincoln, Neb., following a blood disease and lung cancer. Carolyn Alice Booton was born on May 6, 1942, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Clyde and Florence Eva. She grew up in Spokane and received her high school education at John Rogers High School. She later earned an AA Degree in music from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colo.
On July 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ray Booton, who had a career in the United States Air Force. After twenty-two years of Military Service they served as ministers in the Church of the Nazarene. During those years Carolyn often played the piano during church services and taught children in Sunday school classes. She also loved to sing, paint, read, and was often a member of the church choir.
Carolyn worked in the home, taking care of her six children until they became old enough to move away to their own homes. Afterwards, with her first great love being the church, Carolyn worked in the church as a day care worker until she and her husband retired.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Leroy Booton; children, Russell Leon Booton of Lincoln, Tamara Carolyn Sedmak of Larkspur, Colo., Ryan Clyde Booton of Lincoln, Steven Ray Booton of Lincoln, Lisa Louise Joy of Pacific Junction, Iowa, Benjamin Henry Booton of Omaha, Neb. She is also survived by her brother and sister, Walter Eva of Chinook, Wash., and Sally Eva of Spokane, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6-8 PM, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at Connecting Pointe, Church of the Nazarene, 1901 S. 70th Street, Lincoln, at 10 a.m., Rev. Adam Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
