Charles J. Blessing, age 76, lifetime resident of Lincoln, died 12/31/2020. Charlie was born 11/29/1944 to Lawrence & Margaret (Boman) Blessing. He attended Lincoln High School. He then served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 and attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Rifle Medal. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 3. Charlie was an avid runner and participant in many Lincoln Track Club events, completing the Lincoln Half or Full Marathon until he was 70 and continued running regularly until he was 72.
Survived by daughters: Michelle (Jason) Kirby, Vicki (Uriah) Rittenhouse, Renee (Jeff) Spilinek. Grandchildren: Brandie Inns & Tyler Kirby, Spencer & Chandler Krull, Caleb & Ashley Spilinek. Great-Grandchild: Lacie Inns. Sister: Ruth (Craig) Cheney, Brother: Warren (Linda) Blessing. Sisters-in-Law: Mary Ann Blessing, Tena Blessing. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Eddie, Jerry, and Luther, and Charlie’s beloved dachshund Cinnamon.
Visitation: Thursday, January 7th, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services: Friday, January 8th at 2:00 pm, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service following.
