Dan was born in Great Bend, Kansas on March 10, 1952 to Maynard and Noreen Mosier(Weigel). Oldest of seven children, he was cherished by his siblings Carol Cramer (David), Mary Farmer (Art), Susan Musgrove (Ken), Darla McNeal (Grant), Judy Corrigan (Ron), and deceased brother Ken Mosier (Misty). He attended Pratt High School and was active in Letterman’s Club, Science Club, Wrestling, FCA, Pratt High Singers and a football trainer. He learned the value of hard work at his dad’s Champlin Service Station while enjoying the antics and camaraderie of many friends.
After graduation, Dan knew he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. Experiencing firsthand how it transformed his own wellbeing, he found his calling. Dr. Dan graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with honors in 1976. His commitment to learning and excellence led him to earn additional credentials: Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (1990), Contact Reflex Analysis (1996) and Clinical Acupuncture (1997) in Chiropractic Sports Medicine and acupuncture.
Dan married his best friend, Sandy Rice, on October 9, 1976, and they went on to spend 49 years of unwavering love and devotion together. The two could sit quietly and happily in a room together, basking in the love and comfort they provided one another. They attended multiple seminars, and she helped quiz him while studying for his Nebraska license, joking that she could have passed it as well. They built an unbreakable partnership.
Working together 80 hours a week in three different clinics and towns, they amassed enough experience and capital to open a small office in Havelock. Needing to expand in order to provide service to his growing practice, they founded the Mosier Chiropractic Clinic, eventually welcoming Dr. Dave Timperley to become a copartner. Dr. Dan was not only an exceptional chiropractor, but also a caring listener and a trusted healer known for his compassion and integrity.
Daddy to Abbi Mota (Alan), Sara Mosier (Heath), Jenna Smith (Jon), Cayla Mosier (Alicia), Nathan Mosier, and Elizabeth Mosier. Dan was a generous and selfless Daddy who put his family before himself. He was a fun-loving Dr. Papa to five grandchildren: Daniel, Sharon, Cici, Nolan and Juniper.
A master angler and frequent visitor to Canada, he taught all his children to love fishing. Canada and the Fremont cabin were his favorite places to make memories. He encouraged his children to follow their passions, slow down and look around, fight for what they believe in, and to always take care of one another with empathy and love.
He always said, “Find your passion and try to make a career of it, be successful through your passions.” His children reflect that powerful advice. He loved his family more than anything and was happiest when everyone was together- laughing, playing games, or just sitting around telling stories. His laughter and love will be with us forever.
