

Dorothy (Granny) Morrow passed away on November 10, 2014, at the age of 100. She was born in Fordyce, Nebraska, on July 14, 1914. She spent her school days and early life in Fordyce. She married LeRoy Morrow (eloped) on May 17, 1935, in Elk Point, South Dakota. They resided in Dixon, Nebraska, where son Ken was born. When LeRoy was called into the ministry, they moved to Chicago for training. While there, DeWayne was born. After two years in Chicago, they moved back to Nebraska and settled in Wood Lake. Their next ministry was in Ainsworth, where Sheryl was born. They moved to Beatrice in May of 1956. In 1986, they became founding members of Christ Community Church of Beatrice. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Bertha Hoesing, three sisters, LaVeine, Genevieve, and Marquerite, and brother Raphael (infant), Her husband LeRoy just three months before their 75th wedding anniversary, sons Don (10-2010) and DeWayne (1-2014). She is survived by son Ken and wife Margarete, and daughter Sheryl Rogge all of Beatrice, daughter-in-law, Joyce Morrow of Beatrice; brother, Ed Hoesing and wife Marie of Fremont, Nebraska, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her Celebration of Life service will be held, 10:30 AM on Friday, November 14, at Christ Community Church, (2727 Lincoln Blvd), Beatrice, Nebraska, Dr. Jack Magness officiating. Memorials will be at the discretion of the family. Private inurnment will be held at a different date.
