Edgar (Ned) Lloyd Lustig, prominent theatre consultant and designer passed away in Lincoln, NE on February 12, 2016. Born in Omaha, NE in 1927 to Margaret Davidson and Nathan Cook Rettinger, Ned served in the OSS during WWII and attended UCLA.
Ned had been a theatre consultant for 46 years. A founding member of the American Society of Theatre Consultants (made a Fellow of ASTC in 2011), he is known for his inventions & innovations in theatre technology. He was an avid commercial pilot, loved playing his 1927 Robert Morton theatre organ and had a passion for opera.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Perkins of 63 years, his daughters Susan Lustig (and son-in-law Bob Dahl) and Carol (Todd) Wirth. Grandchildren: Colin Wirth, Megan Wirth Cooper, and great grandson, Warren Cooper. Sister: Norma Masterson. Ned was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Merrill.
