On January 7th, 2023, Fay Beth Eliker returned to her heavenly home at the age of 60. After bravely enduring years of cancer treatments for metastatic lung cancer, her body finally succumbed to the effects. She was surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her home.
Fay was born January 16th, 1962, in Augusta, Georgia to Leonard Cecil Reynolds and Myra Ellen Drake. On the 18th of December, 1982, she married Mark Alan Eliker. Together, they raised five daughters and two sons.
Fay had a passion for baking, often creating elaborate birthday and wedding cakes. She contributed heavily to her community by way of hosting a community garden and years of work in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts programs. She led countless youth camping trips and selflessly contributed her time and talents to local organizations, such as the American Legion Auxiliary. Fay especially loved her time serving the little children in nursery at her church. She spent many hours serving in the temple and carried a powerful testimony of her savior Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father.
Each year for the Fourth of July, Fay and Mark looked forward to hosting friends and family with a fireworks show, attended by many for over twenty years. Fay never missed an opportunity to hold or play with her grandchildren, worried only that they would grow tired of her (something that never happened). She helped them see their place in the world and experienced their highs and lows with them, ensuring they knew they were loved.
Fay was preceded in death by her father Leonard, her mother Myra, and her sisters Jane and Barbara. She is survived by her husband Mark, and seven children, Cecilia (Dallas) Maughan, Jack (Rachael), Amy (Kyle) Leslie, Sara (Dallas) Gist, Rebecca (Ether) Saure, Holly (Tim) Mudgett, Alex (MaKayla), her brother Robert and sister Carolyn and 25 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on January 14, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3000 Old Cheney Rd, Lincoln, NE. Viewing from 9:00am-9:40am. Funeral at 10:00am. There will be a zoom link available upon request. Flowers or donations may be sent to Lincoln Memorial 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512
