He attended Lincoln Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High. He worked in Golds, Brandels, and other stores in the furniture department. Later he was employed by Lincoln Drug, then Foxmeyer Drug. He ended his working career at Cook Family Foods.
Gary was a proud man. He was proud of his family, especially his granddaughters- Cassandra (Joe) Roeber, Vanessa (Jeffery) Smith, and Marissa (Matt) Kerwin. He also had a special place in his heart for nieces, Jill Brindley and Jana Losee. He loved to bowl. He bowled on two teams and bowled a perfect 300.
As a young boy he was very fond of his Grandpa Crawford who was affiliated with the Salvation Army in Beatrice. He loved to hear his grandpa sing the songs you hear today.
Gary is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Douglas and Terrance Noel, stepsons Dan (Vickie) Sell and Raymond Sell, Gayle Bartels, granddaughters Cassandra (Joe) Roeber, Vanessa (Jeffrey) Smith, Marissa (Matt) Kerwin. Great-grandchildren Reese and Reagan Roeber, and Wyatt and Barrett Smith. Sister- Cheryl (Mickie) Fulmer with whom he had a special bond.
A visitation for Gary will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM, 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. An interment will occur Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
